The Health Statistics Reports, published annually since 1975, provide information on the state of health in the Republic of Mauritius. The data in the report allow for the monitoring of the health status of the population and to formulate policy decisions, implementing strategies and evaluating health programmes in line with Government priorities and Key Performance Indicators for the Ministry of Health and Wellness. The figures are also used for reporting to various local, regional and international agencies, including the World Health Organization (WHO) and for the monitoring of progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals.
